On Tuesday 26th September I held my first spider phobia busting course, which was at my clinical practice, Theale Wellbeing Centre near Reading. I think it is safe to say that everyone was a little anxious or apprehensive on some level, including me, even though I had complete confidence in what I was doing! The first time you do something can always be a little nervy.

The day started off extremely well with many of the Theale Wellbeing Centre team eager to hold one of my tarantulas, Aphrodite was the one they all wanted to hold and she is my biggest spider at about 6-7 inches. I was ever so pleased how keen they all were even if they were nervous. The team are all very supportive and want to join in where they can - It's a great 'working family' relationship we all have.

The evening was a slightly different story...
Here is a wonderful and very interesting success story form a previous client.

Fear of flying was so bad for Mum of three, Ali that she developed a painful outbreak of psoriasis at the prospect. It almost ruined the holiday of a lifetime but Ali was determined not to be beaten and was given my details from a personal fitness instructor based in Basingstoke.

I worked with Ali to produce a realistic, effective and personalised treatment plan so that she could not only put her anxiety and panic behind her, but relax on the flight and enjoy her family holiday to Las Vegas.

Another success story, this one is from a former Doctor - keep climbing higher and higher Doc!

For most of us, a family day out cycling to the top of a mountain with amazing views sounds idyllic, but for Georgia, also a keen triathlete, this would trigger crippling anxiety. Worrying that she would pass on her phobia to her children, former Doctor Georgia contacted me after a past client recommended me to her.

When faced with the heights involved in mountain biking or the other activities that she and her family enjoy, Georgia found that she would freeze or cry uncontrollably and said that even high bridges or walkways could trigger a stress reaction.
So I have started blogging - and about time too!
Now to get the ball rolling I have a lovely heartwarming story that was printed in the Andover Advertiser Newspaper from Georgie (a client of mine) who had struggled with her practical driving test for almost 20 years.
Her confidence behind the wheel was very low and she would struggle with getting out of the driveway. Georgie had told me during the free initial consultation about a tragic motorcycle accident and it was then I knew that was what her underlying issue was.

I just love this story and I am so proud of her, WELL DONE GEORGIE there is no stopping you now.
